The “9 to 5” singer finally joined the popular social media app TikTok, and she announced to everyone, “I have arrived!” with her first post. The first video shows a montage of some of the singer’s most memorable moments throughout her career, before an announcer says, “Ladies and gentlemen, Dolly Parton!” Text over the clip says, “Hey TikTok, It’s Dolly!” It’s safe to say that everyone was happy to welcome her to TikTok, including the official app, which commented on the video, “welcome, queen ❤️,” to which Parton replied, “Thank you! ❤️.” Parton replied with a wink-face emoji. The comments were filled with excitement and appreciation, with statements ranging from “ITS HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING SHE’S HEREEEE,” to “I want to be Dolly Parton when I grow up.” Now that she’s arrived, Parton wasted no time taking over the app, sharing quite a few videos of her music, baking, and her favorite Parton-inspired TikToks. The 76-year-old even recreated the classic meme comparing what your profile picture might be for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Tinder, adding a fun video at the end for TikTok. Fans are loving Parton’s content, with a comment on the funny meme video reading, “This is the best. We are so glad you’re here. You are the inspiration we all need in our lives.” Parton even used TikTok to release a new song called “Berry Pie,” which is available exclusively through TikTok’s music platform, SoundOn. Along with TikTok, Parton has a lot of exciting projects in the works right now. Recently, she released a new version of her classic song “9 to 5” as a duet with Kelly Clarkson, and the country singer is set to co-host Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party on NBC with Miley Cyrus.
