What is A Christmas Star about?
Astronomer Madeline Baggett (Sara Canning) searches for life beyond Earth, and when she believes she has found it, she convinces her boss to allow her to travel to a small hamlet in upstate New York where she hopes to capture a once-in-a-lifetime event. With refractors and telescopes in tow, Madeline arrives in Summit Ridge where she meets widowed national park ranger Ryan Sparks (Daniel Lissing) and his young daughter, Celeste. With Ryan’s help, Madeline begins to chart the celestial event which brings the pair closer to finding love under the stars.
Who’s in the A Christmas Star cast?
Sara Canning (Madeline)
Canning has starred in The Vampire Diaries, Primeval: New World and Remedy where she played Dr. Melissa Conner, a role that won her several best actress awards. She most recently guest starred on 9-1-1 and Big Sky.
Daniel Lissing (Ryan)
For five seasons, Lissing starred as Mountie Jack Thornton on Hallmark Channel’s longest-running original series, When Calls the Heart. He reprises the role this season on When Hope Calls, a spinoff series of When Calls the Heart. He previously starred opposite Andre Braugher and Scott Speedman in the ABC military drama, Last Resort. He most recently had a recurring role on The Rookie.
