In addition to performing, Minaj was honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which is the VMAs equivalent of a lifetime achievement award. Previous recipients include Beyoncé, Rihanna, Madonna, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez. Additionally, the Red Hot Chili Peppers received the night’s other top honorary award, the Global Icon Award.
